Marketing Manager

Leo A Daly has an open position in the Atlanta office for a Marketing Manager. The Marketing Manager is primarily responsible for managing the production of responses to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs including writing, layout, messaging, integrating the contributions of others, and coordinating production and delivery of the completed proposal.

  1. Review and provide critical analysis of inputs for compliance with all RFP/RFQ requirements.
  2. Author assigned proposal sections such as past performance, personnel, management, and quality.
  3. Participate in the development and presentation of proposal process briefings (Opportunity Review, Go/No Go, and Management Reviews)
  4. Participate in the development of win strategies, competitive analysis, and cross reference / requirement matrices.
  5. Provide guidance to the proposal team on pre-proposal and proposal methodologies.
  6. Develop proposal outlines, schedules and themes.
  7. Work with diverse teams and authors both internal and external to the company.
  8. Ownership and command of proposal development and related support processes
  9. Analyze and outline solicitations (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs)
  10. Define/manage the proposal schedule with the Marketing Manager
  11. Interact with staff to ensure each proposal meets RFP requirements and maintains proposal practices
  12. Conduct kick-off meetings, lead the writing process, oversee proposal reviews, monitor schedules, obtain corporate sign-off, and follow through to proposal submission
  13. Perform quality check of all proposal sections
  14. Perform final proposal production and preparation for submission
  15. Develop and maintain corporate proposal library

Qualificiations:
BS/BA in a related field and minimum five years of experience in proposal management or an equivalent sales support role. Outstanding written and verbal skills. Excellent team, organizational, and project management skills. Development and management of collateral data/information (past performance, personnel skills, corporate/business unit qualification). Adhere to strict deadlines. Knowledge of writing and editorial styles, style guides and best practices of communication in technical fields. Ability to rewrite technical material into one voice without altering its meaning. Strong knowledge of English; excellent grammar, writing and proofreading skills. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint. Proficiency with formal proposal methodology (Shipley preferred). Ability to work independently and provide inputs on proposal strategy, bid strategy, and contract compliance issues.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Arranges and schedules kick-off meetings and red-team reviews.
  2. Identifies key proposal components and necessary resources to accomplish the proposal effort.
  3. Prepares and monitors proposal budget. Also ensures adherence to the proposal budget
  4. Responsible for entire proposal preparation and content including outlines, storyboarding, format, style, graphics, production, and delivery.
  5. Responsible for proposal strategy and ensures proposals compliance with RFP
  6. Conducts or arranges for all technical writing and editing including assigning writers for proposal effort.
  7. May perform some writing tasks, including entire proposal sections and executive summaries.
  8. Prepares responses to requests for additional information such as best and final offers, and assists with oral presentations
  9. Responsible for final review of completed proposals to ensure the documents meet quality standards.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
B.S./B.A. degree in communications or related field with a minimum five years experience in marketing or proposal writing within the federal, municipal or commercial marketplace. Proven track record in proposals and winning new business with proposals.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: SMPS membership desired. If not a member, candidate should be willing to become an active member of the local chapter.

Other Skills and Abilities:
Must have excellent organization, research and public relation skills. Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion. Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding work environment. Must possess excellent written and oral presentation skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to both senior management and other companies that company may team with.
