Celebrating its 25th Anniversary, SMPS Atlanta has another Award-Winning Year

After 25 years, the Atlanta Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) continues to prove its success with placement in all five chapter award categories at the association’s National Conference in Washington, DC.  President, Lee D. Jarboe, CPSM with HARTRAMPF, Inc. accepted the following honors on behalf of the Chapter:

  • Outstanding Large ChapterNational Awards
  • First Place Newsletter
  • First Place Website
  • Outstanding Educational Program
  • Outstanding Special Event

These honors are given each year to the chapters that best exemplify excellence in Chapter management.  With over 180 members, the Atlanta Chapter continues to host quality educational programs to benefit its members and the community, while maintaining the financial health of the organization.  “To receive recognition in all areas of Chapter success is something we are very proud of,” comments Jarboe, “and it is all made possible by the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, the strategic planning of our Board and the support of A/E/C firms in Georgia.”

To top off the evening, last year’s President, Tiffany Posey, with Certified Fire Protection, received the Chapter President of the Year award.  This award is presented each year to one Chapter President in the nation who exemplifies leadership, innovation and originality.  Under Posey’s leadership, the Atlanta Chapter was named 2006 Chapter of the Year.  Boosting profit by 60%, increasing senior level participation, establishing a community service program and hosting the SMPS Southeast Regional Conference are among her accomplishments.  Posey said she is extremely honored to receive the award especially knowing that she is “surrounded by so many talented SMPS leaders” and gives credit to the 2006 Board of Directors and committee volunteers that put many of her “ideas into action.”
